Claude Certification Guide: all four Anthropic exams

Anthropic’s Claude Certification Program has four exams. Here is what each one covers, who it is for, what it costs, and the eligibility rule that catches most people out.

At a glance

The four exams compared

All four run for 120 minutes and pass at a scaled score of 720 out of 1000. What differs is the audience, the number of items and how many domains the blueprint splits into.

CodeCertificationWho it is forItemsDomainsFeeStatus
CCAO‑F Claude Certified Associate – Foundations Entry level, aimed at a general audience rather than developers 607$99 Coming soon
CCDV‑F Claude Certified Developer – Foundations Developers building real applications on the Anthropic stack 538$125 Coming soon

Delivered through Pearson VUE. Item counts and domain splits per published blueprints; fees are per attempt and should be confirmed at registration.

Check eligibility before anything else

Registration goes through Pearson VUE and requires a company email on a domain tied to an organisation in the Claude Partner Network. Personal addresses are rejected at signup.

This blocks more candidates than any exam topic does, so confirm it before you build a study plan around a sitting date. If your employer is not already a partner, that is the first thing to sort out.

The other three

Associate Foundations is the general-audience entry point. Developer Foundations targets people shipping on the Anthropic stack. Architect Professional is the step up from CCAR‑F.

We will publish study guides and practice banks for these as their blueprints are released. We are not writing practice questions against unpublished domain weightings — guessing them would teach the wrong material.

FAQ

Common questions

Four: Associate Foundations (CCAO‑F), Developer Foundations (CCDV‑F), Architect Foundations (CCAR‑F) and Architect Professional (CCAR‑P). All are delivered through Pearson VUE. Only Architect Foundations is live at the time of writing.

All four exams use a scaled score from 100 to 1000 with a pass mark of 720, and all run for 120 minutes. Because scoring is scaled rather than a raw percentage, 720 does not correspond to exactly 72% of items correct.

No. You need a company email on a domain tied to an organisation in the Claude Partner Network; personal addresses are rejected at signup. Check this first — it blocks more people than the exam content does.

Associate Foundations is the entry point and is written for a general audience rather than developers. If you build on the Anthropic stack, Developer Foundations is the closer fit. Architect Foundations assumes roughly six months of hands-on production experience with the Claude API, Agent SDK, Claude Code and MCP.

Yes, for CCAR‑F: a free 54-lesson study guide and 240-question practice bank with timed mock exams, no sign-up. For the other three we are waiting on published blueprints rather than guessing at domain weightings.

Certification proves it. Training builds it.
